Hall & Partners is a Product Awareness firm specializing in target marketing. Their clients include Hewlett-Packard, Microsoft, and Trend Micro. They started with 8 workstations.

The Problem

Cheap “Clone” computers & network were unstable and unreliable. Current IT company was not dependable. “They fixed things and the problem was still occurring.”
Our Solution We installed and configured Dell Desktop Workstations and IBM Laptops to their unique individual specifications. Created an Office Template and burned it onto CD for easy setup and restoration of Workstations. Re-installed their NT Server and added a second Server to divide the workload and provide fault- tolerance within their network.
The Results Stabilization of the Office Environment, development of a Backup Strategy and Workstation Standardization that minimized employee downtime and increased overall productivity. With the extra budgeted money we were able to install a Virtual Private Network for secure access for mobile users that further increased their productivity.

The Problem

Too many minor problems were occurring, keeping employees from working efficiently and productively. Various Operating Systems installed on systems as well made their productivity difficult.
Our Solution

Re-installed NT Server to our specifications, setup “Roaming User Accounts,” upgraded their office to Windows 2000 Professional Workstations, created an Office Template and burned it onto a restoration CD for easy setup and rejuvenating of additional Workstations. Provided individualized training on basic troubleshooting and backup maintenance.

The Results Stabilized of their network environment, and standardized workstations, which minimized employee downtime and increased overall productivity. The Problem

Out of Date PC Clone systems; PC Clone Server (configured without fault tolerance). No standardization in Systems and software increased maintenance time and downtime for employees. No reliable backup solution. Server crashed leaving company down for 2 days.
Our Solution

Purchased a New Compaq Proliant Server, moved all Files to new Server and configured with our double redundant backup solution (Tape & Image). Re-installed old NT Server to our specifications, Setup and recovered Exchange Database. Split the load and backup between each server. Purchased Compaq and Dell Workstations, upgraded their office to Windows 2000 Professional Workstations, created an Office Template and burned it onto a restoration CD for easy setup and rejuvenating of additional Workstations.

The Results A reliable fault-tolerant system environment insuring consistent uptime and low maintenance requirements. Stabilized their network environment, and standardized workstations, which minimized employee downtime and increased overall productivity. Over time their older systems failed but due to our efforts in the beginning their business did not incur any downtime. New systems were purchased to replace the failed ones and setup was completed with ease using the Office Template we created.

Murray Engineering and FSI Architecture share an office in Midtown Manhattan. They share all there IT investments and equipment cutting their costs in half. FSI is and architectural design company & Murray Engineering is a structural engineering firm.

9 PC CAD Workstations, 3 Macs, 2 Servers, VPN, Firewall, Filemaker Server, Terminal Server

The Problem

Existing Filemaker Database solution which they use for Time Cards and billing purposes was not giving them the reports they needed to process their projects and to benefit from the tool they invested so much money in. Their old IT company (Minolta) could not service their specific business needs and did not understand Mac Operating systems.
Our Solution

Amended their existing Filemaker Database to create hourly job reports by employee and project, created a portable Palm link to the customer DB in Filemaker and created a web timecard entry for consultants. We also setup a Terminal Server and VPN so that key employees and principals could do work and project management from any location.

The Results Allowed for more accurate billings to projects with a high degree of detail justifying costs and expenses. Established fast reliable access to outside consultants to their Filemaker Database system.

You can’t prevent problems, but you can be prepared to deal with them effectively.

Currently Murray Engineering is Beta testing a new Architectural Project Management System we developed, called JobArchitect, which was largely based on our experience answering their essential business needs.
